Naruto Returns to Toonami on December 1st
Starting December 1st (technically December 2nd that Sunday Morning) Naruto will make a return to Toonami. It will take the 1230 spot previously held by Tenchi Muyo GXP, of course Tenchi won't be gone just pushed back. No word on Narturo Shippuden because it is still owned by Disney.
This is gonna be a half rant, half orgasm.
I'm glad they wised and finally brought back a show in it's original uncut format. Anime fans have wanted this for years and this opens the door for older anime to be placed on AS Toonami block. It's also good to have an English speaking Naruto back (not saying I didn't like the Japanese dub but I'm a lazy person and I started with the English dub of Naruto).I'm just glad to see something else on Toonami that is actually an action show!
Now here's the rant. First you take old anime that's not popular and put it on the block, and now you take an anime that had died out when it went too long in it's first run now you bring it back! WTF AS. I know you have a budget to think about not to mention the network on your ass but come on. Naruto is available on Hulu (which is free) in Japanese of course but it's a small price to pay. If your going to bring back something choose a property that's older and more accomplished e.g. Sailor Moon, Outlaw Star, or even Rurouni Kenshin. Bring them back the way they were suppose to be seen.
Yes........ there is a contradiction. I'm conflicted as are others. Then there are the camps one camp consist of people liking Naruto returning, and the other camp wondering why Toonami is bringing this back. I have some other gripes with Adult Swim bringing back Toonami half-heartily in first place ,such as putting it at 12am time slot. We shall see in the coming weeks what this does for them. It could be a ratings booster or bring them to a halt.
